Changemaker-evening: Preventing youth violence and crime with Steve Stephan

Welcome to Changemaker-evening about preventing youth violence and crime. The event is organized as a part of the national Youth Peace Week in Finland.
How are the youth doing in Sweden? In Finland, we often hear alarming news about youth gangs, criminal activity and violence in Sweden. How does the situation look like from the perspective of a young swede who has been active youth leader aiming to change the social landscape of his own community? What is actually being done in Sweden to combat the situation?
Steve Stephan is a dedicated youth leader from Sweden with extensive experience in social impact work aimed at empowering teenagers and creating safer, more inclusive communities. He has served in many youth organizations and led transformative initiatives reaching thousands of young people in vulnerable areas.
With Steve’s lead, the participants will have a chance to discuss how we can help youth in vulnerable situations and prevent violence and youth crime. In addition the event includes a simulation where the participants have the opportunity to put what they have learned in to action.
The event is organized at Finn Church Aid’s office in Helsinki (Eteläranta 8). Vegan snacks and warm drinks are available for the participants.
